What we are (and what we’re not)

TrustyGarageDoor is a referral service, not a garage door company. We don’t roll trucks, employ technicians, or perform repairs. What we do is research, vet, and partner with established, independent garage door companies in each metro area we cover — then connect homeowners and businesses with the right one in a single phone call, free of charge.

The garage door industry has a real problem: it’s a high-urgency, low-frequency purchase. Most people hire a garage door company once every several years, under pressure, with a car trapped or a door stuck open. That’s exactly the environment where bait-and-switch advertising, unmarked trucks, and $29-service-call-turned-$700-invoice operations thrive. Our vetting filters them out before you ever dial.

How we vet companies

• Insurance verified. Active general liability coverage, confirmed before joining and rechecked periodically.
• Licensing confirmed. Where the state or city requires a contractor license or registration (Arizona ROC, Florida contractor licensing, Chicago GC license, and others), we verify it.
• Track record reviewed. Years in business under the same name, review history across platforms, and complaint patterns.
• Upfront pricing required. Network companies quote the price on-site before work begins. Bait-and-switch reports get companies removed.

How we make money

Transparency matters, so here it is plainly: TrustyGarageDoor is a free referral service that connects you with independent, locally owned garage door companies in your area. We are not a garage door contractor and do not perform repairs ourselves. The professionals in our network are independent businesses responsible for their own work, licensing, and pricing. We may receive a fee from contractors for connecting them with customers, at no cost to you.

You never pay us anything, and the referral fee does not change the price you pay the contractor — companies pay for customer connections instead of spending the same money on advertising.
